ELIGIBILITY & PROCEDUREFor Under Graduate Courses
Passed H.S.C. (XII std.) examination with subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the course, from Maharashtra State Board or equivalent.For Lateral Entry (After Diploma)
Passed Diploma in Engineering in the same branch or equivalent.For Post Graduate Courses
Passed B.E. in the same branch or equivalent.For Under graduate courses (Part time)
Passed Diploma in Engineering in the same branch or equivalent.
Under Sponsored CategoryCandidates fulfilling eligibility requirement specified in Table - I will be considered for admission to the respective programme under GATE/Non-GATE category as per details given in table I. However the candidates who apply for admission under quota of sponsored seats shall not be considered for admission under this category.
Candidates who posses Bachelors degree in the respective or allied branch of engineering/technology, as specified in Table - I will be eligible for admission to respective programmes.
The condition of minimum percentage of marks may be waived for those candidates who are teachers either in Engineering Colleges or Polytechnics and joined before 20.09.1989, provided they are eligible for admission to that course as per Nagpur University Rules.
The candidates must have minimum of 2 years of fulltime work experience in a registered firm / company / Industry / educational and / or research institute / any Government Departments or Government - Autonomous Organization in the relevant field in which admission is being sought.
A letter from the employer must be furnished stating that the candidate is being sponsored to seek admission to the postgraduate degree programme. The employer should also indicate that the candidate will not be withdrawn midway till the completion of the course. The candidates will be fully under the administrative control of the institute for the period of the course. Performa of sponsorship certificate is given in Application Form.
Only those candidates who at the time of admission are employed in an Organization referred to in above clause no (iii) and (iv) will be eligible for claiming seats against sponsored category.
For Under Graduate B.E. Course (Full Time)
For full time B.E. undergraduate programme eligibility is as per Directorate of Technical Education, Govt. of Maharashtra notification available on www.dte.org.in/fe2006.
First round of admission will be done by Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Govt. of Maharashtra, as per norms.
Remaining seats will be filled by the college as per merit.
80% seats shall be filled in by DTE while 20% seats comes under Management Quota.Reservations are as per Govt. norms.For Lateral Entry (After Diploma)
Eligibility for later entry is that student should have passed the Diploma course in 1st Class in Engineering / technology in appropriate branch of Engineering from an institute affiliated to MSBTE or any other recognized board.
First round of admission will be done by Directorate of Technical Education, (DTE), Govt. of Maharashtra, as per norms.
Remaining seats will be filled by the college at college level as per merit.
Total seats are one-sixth of intake.For Under Graduate B.E. Course (Part-Time)
A candidate will be eligible for admission to Part Time B.E. Course if he / she has passed in at least 2nd Class with an aggregate of 50% marks and in case of backward class candidates (from Maharashtra state only) with 45% marks, the Diploma examination in Engineering / Technology conducted by the Board of Technical Examination, Maharashtra or by any other Institution which has been granted academic autonomy by the Govt. of Maharashtra or recognized as equivalent to the diploma in relevant branch by the Board of Technical Examination, Maharashtra State AND
The candidate should have an experience of working in the appropriate profession for at least one year after passing qualifying examination for 1st round of examination. However, if a candidate has passed four year diploma course in Engineering & Technology with industrial training in sandwich pattern, the requirement of one year experience is not necessary.
Admissions are made at college level First round of admissions are for student with experience of over 1 year, on merit.
Second round is for fresh diploma holders on merit
90% weightage is on Diploma Marks and 10% is on work experience for more than 5 years.For Post Graduate CoursesEligibility

Admissions will be done according to merit list prepared on the basis of valid GATE score in the respective programmes indicated under the column of Eligibility criterion in Table I.. GATE score in one branch will not be valid for admission in another branch.
If enough GATE qualified candidates (candidates with valid GATE score) are not available, the vacant seats will be offered to the Non - GATE (candidates without GATE score) as per merit, based on total marks secured out of 100 in the entrance test and interview as indicated below.

Entrance Test / InterviewA written entrance test shall be conducted by the institute for all the Non-GATE candidates to fill up the vacant seats, if any, after admitting all GATE qualified candidates. The list of such candidates shall be displayed by the respective departments. It may be noted that the candidates with valid GATE score are not required to appear for Entrance Test / Interview.ADMISSION OF CANDIDATES UNDER SPONSORED CATEGORYEligibility

If the total performance of the candidates are comparable, then the preference shall be given for admission to the candidates who are GATE qualified and those who are serving in Engineering Colleges, Polytechnic and Industry, in that order.
No reservation is provided in sponsored category. However, preference will be given to the candidates of reserved in the case of equal merit.
