JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad
History of the College
The College was established as Nagarjuna Sagar Engineering College in 1965 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. When the college was under the administrative control of the Department of Technical Education, it was affiliated to Osmania University, Hyderabad. With the formation of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University on 2nd October 1972, it became a constituent college of the University and was later renamed as JNTU College of Engineering, Hyderabad. From its inception in 1965 to 1984, the College was located at Masab Tank Campus. In 1984, the College was shifted to its permanent location at Kukatpally, a 100 acres site, about 20 km from the heart of the City, on Bomay National Highway (NH-9).
The activities of the college are basically supported by the budgetary allocation from the University funds. Specific grants from different funding agencies like UGC, MHRD, AICTE, DST are also sought from time to time for the development of the college. The College has purchased modern and sophisticated equipment worth about 20 crores from the research and development grants received from MHRD, AICTE, DST and TEQIP (A World Bank-aided Project). The college celebrated its Silver Jubilee in 1990.
The infrastructure development in the past two decades in the college has been substantial. After shifting to the new campus in 1984, the Civil and Mechanical Engineering block and Hostel blocks for boys and girls were added. Subsequently Computer Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, separate Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering and Library blocks were constructed. The college library consists of nearly 61,414 books, and about 126 Journals and 4000 on-line journals. It also subscribes to 50 Journals every year.
The Industrial Consultancy Unit of the college is very active in offering the expertise of the staff in various fields like Structural Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Survey, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Almost all departments have Computers to carry out Computer Laboratories, Projects, Research and Development work. The systems include Pentiums and work stations. Some departments have very powerful computer systems to carry out special purpose works. A 24x7 Centralized Computer Centre, having biometric entry, has been established which is open to students and staff round the clock on all days including holidays. Important softwares of all the departments are housed in it and can be accessed by the students and staff.
The college presently has 4 hostel blocks namely Godavari Hostel and Krishna Hostel (for boys) and Saraswati Hostel & Kamala Nehru (for Girls). The college provides hostel facilities for about 820 boys and 575 girls. A new PG Hostel for Boys is ready for occupation. Other facilities in the campus include a bank, Post office, Hospital, Canteen, play fields along with a pavilion etc. The college has NCC (National Cadet Corps) and NSS (National Service Scheme) units. Almost 100% of our college students are getting employment through campus placements.
The student branch of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) is very active. The college also has ISTE (Indian Society for Technical Education) chapter.

The College was established on 16th July 1946 as the College of Engineering, Visakhapatnam situated at Kakinada. It was later named as the Government College of Engineering, Kakinada. After being initially affiliated to the University of Madras and later to the Andhra University, it became a constituent College of the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University at the time of its formation on 2nd October 1972.The Principal is the administrative and the academic Head of the College. He is assisted by the Vice-Principal and the College Academic Committee in academic matters and the Deputy Registrar and the office staff in administrative matters. The day-to-day activities of the college are carried out by budgetary allocation from the University funds. The Campus is spread over a sprawling area of about 110 acres. The college provides hostel accommodation for about 250 boys and 250 girls. Other amenities on the campus include Bank, Post-Office, dispensary, guesthouse, and play fields. College has a good library with about 40,000 volumes. The college also subscribes to a good number of national and international journals. The Research and Development activity in the College got a boost with the procurement of modern and sophisticated equipment under MHRD and AICTE schemes. A few Ph.D theses were completed in addition to a number of M.Tech. theses. A few funded and sponsored research schemes have been in progress. Members of the teaching faculty authored a good number of research papers, research reports and textbooks during the last few years. Several departments in the college have conducted number of summer schools, seminars, workshops, symposia, and conferences, a good number of them during the golden year of the college. The Industrial Consultany Unit offers testing services and expertise for various establishments belonging to the public and private sectors. With a few power projects coming up in the Private Sectors in and around Kakinada, a lot of Geotechnical investigation activity has been undertaken by the Civil Engineering Department. The college offers Four Year B.Tech regular programmes in the disciplines of Civil Engineering (CE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE), Electronics and Communications Engineering (ECE), Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), The admission to these courses is based on EAMCET. The college further offers four-year B.Tech part-time programs in CE, ECE, EEE and ME. The admission is based on ECET. The college offers M.Tech courses in the following specialization's:Civil Engineering : Soil Mechanics & Foundation Engineering Mechanical Engineering : Machine Design Electrical Engineering : Power Systems (High Voltage) Electronics & Communications Engineering : Instrumentation & Controls Computer Science & Engineering : Computer Science The intake for these courses is on the basis of GATE Examination for nonsponsored and entrance test conducted by the University for sponsored candidates. Established in the year 1993 by Sri J. Bhaskar Rao with the lofty aim of providing quality professional education and meeting the rising expectations of young students in Andhra Pradesh. J.B. Educational Society has been striving to achieve the objective of pursuit of excellence in the fields of Engineering, Medicine, Management, Hotel Management and Information Technology. In 1994 the society established J.B. Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology on Road No.1, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad offering three-year degree program in BHMCT. Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, is the pioneering Aeronautical institute, started in the year 2000 as an exclusive institute providing quality education in Andhra Pradesh, has since transformed itself into truly integrated inter multi-disciplinary Technological Institute dedicated in inter disciplinary instruction. It has at present three Technology Divisions. The first among them being Aeronautics and Mechanical Sciences and Technology division . This merging permits reaping the benefits of synergy between these Sciences and Technologies (which exist as separate departments in other institutes). Hence, this division has been created with a right blend of specialists from Academics, R&D and Industrial backgrounds, providing the required competence for this task. Thus, it has integrated two distinct departments providing training for under graduate programmes in Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering disciplines of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. The second division is a later addition wherein Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology disciplines are merged to provide both Science and Technology inputs to Engineering Graduates of either departments making them suitable for taking up challenges of the IT Sector of today with hardware and software know-how’s imparted in an integrated environment with faculty having both computer science and information technology backgrounds. Last but not the least among these divisions being the integrated product of ECE and EEE disciplines to provide holistic Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering and technological skills through a coherent blend of dynamic faculty. In addition to the above three divisions the institute has a common division of Humanities and Basic Sciences (HBS), which includes managerial sciences and caters to the common needs of all engineering disciplines in addition the institute has library and physical education departments merged into this to cater for scholastic and physical needs of engineering students and faculties.
The Principal for this multi disciplinary Institute with inter disciplinary technological goal was selected on the basis of Academic Excellence, world-renowned Research competence and with experience in interdisciplinary instruction in a number of departments at IIT, Bombay. Approved bu AICTE and affiliated to JNTU, the College runs four year 4-degree courses. Computer Science Engg. Three computer labs having 140 Computer Systems provide much needed exposer to all the student. The Computer Lab is now able to conduct online examinations of 1st and 2nd years, a feather in the cap for the college. The college has conducted more than 50 projects in the final year degree course in the year 2005 - 2006.
We organize games and sports activities like Cricket, Volley Ball, Shuttle and many indoor games like Chess, Carom etc.

The society was established on 31st March 1981, mainly with the efforts of late Sri Adusumilli Aswardha Narayana Murthy and Sri Vallurupalli Venkata Rama Seshadri Rao with the main objective of establishing, aiding and maintaining technical, engineering and general educational institutions.In the Year 1981,the society established Adusumilli Aswardha Narayana Murthy and vallurupalli Venkata Rama Seshdri Rao Polytechnic with an intake of 180 students.Today, the polytechnic has an intake of 620 students and is the first choice of many students seeking admission in private polytechnics through CEEP.
Genesis and Growth of the College:
The college is the vision of late Sri Vallurupalli Venkata Rama Seshadri Rao.It was started in 1998, with an intake of 180 students with the following four branches of study.
Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE):
40, Mechanical Engineering(ME):60, Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE):40, Computer Science & Engineering(CSE):40.
Since inception it has been growing steadly and in the academic year 2004-2005, it has risen to start Post Graduate courses (MCA programme and full time M.Tech program in Digital Electronics and Communication Systems) and in the academic year 2006-07 MBA in the academic year 2008-2009 Embedded Systems and Computer Science Engineering were started.
All UG programmes (EEE, ME,ECE,CSE & IT) were Accrediated by NBA, AICTE from 19-07-2008 for 3 years.

B.Tech Admission process
Admission to the four years Degree course is offered to various branches of Engineering through two-tier/window system.
(1) 75% seats are filled through common entrance tests conducted by state government (EAMCET) Engineering and Medical common Entrance test.
(2) Remaining 25% seats are provided for NRI – Management quota.In this category the student does not need to be qualified in the EAMCET, rather should possess 60% in Physics, Chemistry & Maths or overall.
(3) For MCA/MBA 75% seats are filled through common entrance tests conducted by Central government (I-CET).
(4) Remaining 25% seats are provided for NRI – Management quota.In this category the student does not need to be qualified in the I-CET, rather should possess 50% in B.Sc(Batchelor of Sciences).

The Dr.V.R.K. Womens College of Engineering & Technology run by the Dr.V.R.K. Educational Society and is situated at a distance of 20 Km from the city of Hyderabad. The College runs four year 4 degree courses. Computer Science Engg. (CSE), Instrumentation & Control Engineering (ICE) and Electronic Communication Engg. (ECE) and Electronics & Electrical Engineering (EEE).
We have intake for 60 seats in ECE , 60 in CSE, 60 in ICE and 60 in EEE. Total 240 seats

Three computer labs having 140 Computer Systems provide much needed exposer to all the student. The Computer Lab is now able to conduct online examinations of 1st year, a feather in the cap for the college. The college has conducted more than 50 projects in the final year degree course in the year 2005 - 2006.
We organize games and sports activities like Cricket, Volley Ball, Shuttle and many indoor games like Chess, Carom etc.
