THE TRUST AND ITS ACTIVITIES
Samarth Samaj', a registered Public Trust, was founded by Late Shri. Sakharam seth H.Jondhale in the year 1960 humbly beginning as a school. In the last four decades, this small seedings blossomed into a giant Educational complex catering to 12000 students at all levels.
Samarth Samaj is one of the leading & progressive educational Institute imparting all types of education right from K.G., Junior college (commerce & Science), Polytechnic and Engineering College etc. Samarth Samaj's Educational Complex is situated just two minutes walk from the west side of DombivIi Railway station in Thane Dist.
The Management of Samarth Samaj, recognized the need of trained manpower in technical fields to meet the needs of the nation for 21 st. century.
The moment the Maharashtra Government took the revolutionary and bold policy decision of permitting the establishment of unaided (Private) Engineering Education Institute, Samarth Samaj's was ready to start this new activity and started its First Polytechnic in DombivIi in the 1984.
Considering the need, demand and place around the city the Samarth Samaj started Shivajirao S. Jondhale College of Engineering at DombivIi (E.) from academic year 1994-95.
It is recognized by AICTE and Government of Maharashtra, and affiliated to Mumbai.University. This is the only Engineering College between Thane and Karjat on Central Railway.

Rizvi College Of Engineering, Bombay
Rizvi Education Society is a Public Charitable Trust establishd under the Societies Act 1950 and registered under the provisions of The Bombay Public Act, 1950. The main objective of the society has always been promoting education at all levels. Rizvi Education Society began with the College of Arts, Science and Commerce and Rizvi High School in the year 1985. It has now spread its wings and branched into Rizvi College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Rizvi College of Engineering, Rizvi Law College, Rizvi College of Education and Rizvi College of Fashion Designing & Creative Arts located at Rizvi Educational Complex, Off. Carter Road, Bandra (West), Mumbai. The picturesque and serene vicinity provides an ideal environment for students.
Apart from the institutions in Mumbai, a Degree College of Arts, Commerce and Science, and a Girls High School are currently functioning at Jaunpur (U.P.). Along with the Degree College of Arts & Commerce, a B.Ed College and High School have also been started from the academic year 1999-2000 at Allahabad (U.P.) Rizvi Education Society has plans to establish Degree and Diploma Colleges in the areas of Pharmacy, Journalism & Medical Sciences.
Although Rizvi Education Society emphasizes on academic excellence, co-curricular and extra curricular activities have been given their due importance and play a significant role in the lives of the students. In a short span of a few years. Rizvi Education Society has given a lot of time to this sports loving city. Some of the Rizviites are proud members of the Ranji Trophy Squad. To sum it up Rizvi Education Society has been acting as a catalyst to metamorphosize a learning society.
Eligibility Criteria for Admission
To be eligible for first year admission to four year Bachelors degree course, the candidate should have Passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (std XII) of Maharashtra State Board Of Secondary Education, or equivalent from other state with English.
Secured minimum 50% marks i.e. 150 marks out of 300 marks for open category (45% i.e. 135 marks out of 300 marks for backward class candidates from Maharashtra ) as per directives of DTE from time to time.
Ranking obtained in MAH EN-CET-2005 or AIEEE for Engineering/Technology Degree Courses conducted by the Competent Authority of Government of Maharashtra for the academic year 2005-2006.
Diploma holder who have passed the diploma course in Engineering/Technology affiliated to MSBTE or its equivalent with minimum 50% marks. (Outside State students are also eligible).

Fee StructureThe update fee structure for unaided Engineering colleges after approval by the Shikshan Shulka Samiti will be made available on http://www.dte.org.in/fe2005. Unaided Engineering Colleges have submitted their revised proposal to Shikshan Shulka Samiti. Final decision of Shikshan Shulka Samiti will be binding to the students who will be admitted in the year 2005-06.
Mode of PaymentThe candidate who has been offered a seat in the college shall pay the prescribed fees in the form of Demand Draft/Pay Order of any Nationalized/Scheduled bank. Nojother mode of payment shall be accepted.
Demand Draft / Pay Order should be drawn in favour of: ** Rizvi College of Engineering " payable at Mumbai.
University FeesThe candidate shall be required to pay the university fees as prescribed by the competent authorities from time to time.
Caution MoneyCaution money deposits received from the students shall be refunded after their successful completion of the course or after canceling the admission. Unless there is any recovery, no deduction shall be made from the caution money deposit. However, the amount of caution money deposit shall be transferred to Students Aid Fund, if candidate does not apply for refund, within 3 complete financial years after the student actually leaves the institution, or, within 3 complete financial years after the date of successful completion of the course, whichever is earlier.

Merit of the Candidate (out of 200 marks) will be based on the MHT-CET-2005 score only.
Training and Placement at RIZVI College of EngineeringInstitute has a well established Training and Placement Cell. The Training and Placement department motivates the students providing the necessary help and guidance for their personality development. They are exposed to various organizations and corporate sectors, through expert lectures and short-term courses. The pre final and the final year students are privileged to train themselves in practical industrial training arranged during summer/winter vacations in various public and private organizations.
Nearly 90% of the students perform their final year projects in industries.
Each year more than 30 % to 40 % students are placed through this cell. The training and placement cell is active to keep touch with the industry and invites them to come and visit the institute for campus interviews.
Students are made confident enough of their caliber by taking up in plant training. It contacts various industries for placement at the end of the courses, to conduct campus interviews, besides interviews in the industries arranged by the cell.

India produces the largest number of engineers after China. Even with such a huge qualified workforce generated annually from the engineering stream, the I.T industry is on an aggressive and incessant recruitment spree. Firstly it implies that there still exists a huge demand-supply gap and secondly it also raises a question about the quality of engineers produced in terms of industry specific practical orientation. This presents a real challenge to the institutions offering Engineering degree to produce technically competent engineers. The dynamic nature of the profession calls for designing education programs with a global perspective. Bachelors degree in Engineering is still considered to be the most rewarding career option which lays the foundation for imparting design and analytical skills required for the profession. The global scope of the profession has resulted in large scale transmigration in quest of greener pastures. Wherever one goes, what stands the test of time is the quality of education that has really unleashed the latent potential within and transformed it into a tangible skill.
A very serious point of concern, especially in the Indian context, that needs attention is the accessibility of institutes to the rural population. Even meritorious students at times may face financial constraints or traveling problems to get enrolled into colleges in the metros. There are very few engineering colleges in the rural regions which offer quality education and which is worth the money spend.
RCPIT was set up as a part of the self powered plans of Shirpur Education Society in 2001 with the objective to erect a truly world class institute in the rural part where students from the vicinity would be benefited from the services that matched global standards. RCPIT was conceived by Hon. Shri. Amrishbhai R. Patel, former cabinet minister for School Education, sports and youth welfare for Maharashtra State. The institute has grown at a remarkable pace and has gone on to become an institute of repute within the country. It is spread over 36.6 acres of lush green land providing an ambience congenial to the pursuit of high quality technical education. Every single detail of the institute has been implemented at par with global standards in accordance to the norms of AICTE, New Delhi. The strength of RCPIT lies in its state of the art Laboratories, digital library, and an advanced workshop.

Lab also includes machinery like Proto-Contact PCB art work film maker, Proto-Cure PCB Cutting machine, Photo Resist dip coating machine, Double sided U.V. Exposure unit (Proto UV), Proto etching machine, PCB drilling machine (Proto Drill–3000), PCB shearing machine (SLASH-300), Roller tinning machine RTM-10 and equipments like digital storage oscilloscope and microcontroller programmer etc.

He needs to have strong system operational skills to be proficient in installations,networking and troubleshooting as well. This calls for strong computing and networking facilities with ideal configurations where a student can explore and learn. RCPIT provides the finest computing environment that a student can ever dream .The department of C.E and IT lays significant amount of emphasis on offering students with maximum system operational time to improve their programming, networking and troubleshooting skills. Even with such a huge qualified workforce generated annually from the engineering stream, the I.T industry is on an aggressive and incessant recruitment spree. Firstly it implies that there still exists a huge demand-supply gap and secondly it also raises a question about the quality of engineers produced in terms of industry specific practical orientation. This presents a real challenge to the institutions offering Engineering degree to produce technically competent engineers. The dynamic nature of the profession calls for designing education programs with a global perspective. Bachelors degree in Engineering is still considered to be the most rewarding career option which lays the foundation for imparting design and analytical skills required for the profession. The global scope of the profession has resulted in large scale transmigration in quest of greener pastures. A very serious point of concern, especially in the Indian context, that needs attention is the accessibility of institutes to the rural population. Even meritorious students at times may face financial constraints or traveling problems to get enrolled into colleges in the metros. There are very few engineering colleges in the rural regions which offer quality education and which is worth the money spend.
RCPIT was set up as a part of the self powered plans of Shirpur Education Society in 2001 with the objective to erect a truly world class institute in the rural part where students from the vicinity would be benefited from the services that matched global standards. RCPIT was conceived by Hon. Shri. Amrishbhai R. Patel, former cabinet minister for School Education, sports and youth welfare for Maharashtra State. Padmabhushan Vasantdada Patil Pratishthan’s College of Engineering is a tribute to the late Shri Vasantdada Patil, the Sahakar Maharshi and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The college is registered under Societies’ Registration Act, 1860 and Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. Former deputy Prime Minister Yeshwantrao Chavan laid the foundation of the college.

Type Of Commission: On completion of course, successful candidates will be granted Permanent Commission in the Navy as Technical Officers.
Age: Candidates should be between 16 ½ to 19 ½ years as on 01 Jan on the year of commencement of the course.
Educational Qualification: Senior Secondary Examination (10 +2) or is equivalent from University / Board with at least 75 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
Frequency of Course: Once a Year commencing in the month of December every year.
Selection Procedure: No Written Test.
All short listed candidates will be called for SSB Interview at any one of the following places:Bangalore, Bhopal , Coimbatore, Allahabad
Screening test followed by 4 days of SSB Interview
Recommended candidates will have to undergo medical examination.

Physical Standard:
Height and Weight : Minimum acceptable height is 157 Cms with co-relatedWeight and proportionate chest with minimum 5 cms expansion.
Eye Sight: Unaided distant vision 6/12, 6/18.
Training:
The course is scheduled to commence in December.
First 6 Months: Candidates are entered as cadets and undergo Naval Orientation Course at Naval Academy Goa.
Next 4 years Engineering Course at the Naval College of Engineering INS Shivaji. Lonavla
On successful completion of the course, a B.Tech Degree is awarded by JawaharLal Nehru University New Delhi.
National Power Training Institute, Nagpur
National Power Training Institute was created as a National Apex Body by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Power in the year 1993 by renaming and upgrading the erstwhile Power Engineers Training Society.
NPTI with its Corporate Centre at Faridabad operates Eight Institutes all over the country. It has five Regional Institutes located at Neyveli (Tamil Nadu), Durgapur (West Bengal), Badarpur (New Delhi), Nagpur (Maharashtra) and Guwahati (Assam) and two specialized Centres viz., Power Systems Training Institute (PSTI) & Hot Line Training Centre (HLTC) at Bangalore, a Centre for Advanced Management and Power Studies (CAMPS) at Faridabad (Haryana). NPTI (NE-R) is at present operating from temporary site at Narangi Complex of ASEB, Guwahati and the full-fledged training Institute is being set up at Kahilipara, Guwahati. To address the training requirement of Hydro Power Sector, a specialized Hydro Power Training Centre is also being set up at Nangal, Punjab.
NPTI and its Regional Institutes are fully equipped with the latest state-of-the-art training infrastructure and has expert faculties with long years of professional and teaching background. The Training Institute at Badarpur and Nagpur are equipped with a Computer based Full-scope Replica Simulator of 210 MW Fossil Fuel Thermal Power Plant to provide off-job/hands on training. NPTI corporate Office at Faridabad houses a state-of-the-art 500 MW Simulator,430 MW Combined Cycle Gas Training Simulator and a GIS resource Centre.
Several long-term and short-term training programs in the areas of Thermal, Hydro, Transmission & Distribution and Management etc. are being conducted in the various Institutes of NPTI. Dr. Vishwanath Karad Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad is Founding Executive President and Managing Trustee of the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering and Educational Research (MAEER), as well as Founder and Director-General of the Maharashtra Institute of Technology (MIT) in Pune, India. MAEER was founded in 1983, with the goal to become a “Center of Excellence in the field of education and research.” It now encompasses 71 institutes, colleges and schools in the fields of engineering, management, pharmacy, medicine, and general education, including the Maharashtra Academy of Engineering, MIT, MIT Women Engineering College, MIT School of Management, Maharashtra Academy of Naval Education, Maharashtra Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, and Maharashtra Institute of Pharmacy.
MIT was also established in 1983, and was among the first private, engineering colleges in the Maharashtra, and since remains as the most important flagship institution of MAEER, offering undergraduate engineering studies in nine disciplines and post-graduate studies in three disciplines.
