The next session of Craftsmen Training Scheme at the Model Training Institute (MTI) attached to Advanced Training Institute (ATI), Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Directorate General of Employment & Training at Mumbai, will commence from 1st August, 2008.
a) Particulars of Trade, Qualifications for Admission and Duration of Courses, offered, are given below :-
Computer Operator & Programming Assistant (COPA)
Welder (Gas & Electric)
Instrument Mechanic
Mechanic (Motor Vehicle)
Electronic, Mechanic
Draughtsman (Mechanical).
b) Duration: Courses at SI. No. 1 & 2, are of One year duration and Courses at SI. No. 3 to 6 are of 2 years duration.
c) Date of Starting Admission at MTI: From 1.8.2008 (However, distribution of application forms will start just after result of SSC, Mumbai Board)
d) I. Entry Qualification:
For SI. No. 1 (COPA): 12th class examination pass under 10+2 system of education or passed three years Diploma in any branch of engineering from a recognized Polytechnic
For SI. No. 2: Passed 8th class exam (Class 7th Pass where terminal examination is in class 7th)
For SI. No. 3: 10th class examination pass under 10+2 system of education with Science as one of the subjects or its equivalent.
For SI. No. 4: Passed 10th class Exam under 10+2 system of education with Science & Mathematics or its equivalent.
For SI. No. 5: Passed 10th Class Exam under 10+2 system of education with Science as one of the subjects
For SI. No. 6: Passed 10th Class Exam under 10+2 system of education with Science and Mathematics or its equivalent.
II. Selection: Selection shall be made on Merit basis.
III. Age: Candidates should ordinarily, be between 14 to 40 years/ of age as on 1st August 2008 and the maximum age limit permissible for Ex-Servicemen & War Widows is 45 years.
e) Stipend/ Scholarship: 25% of the totals number of trainees on roll or sanctioned seats whichever is less will be entitled to get stipend @ Rs.100/- p.m. on Poverty-cum-Merit basis.
4% of the total number of trainees will be awarded merit Scholarships @ Rs.125/- p.m. on the basis of the internal examination after six months.
f) Reservation: Reservations are applicable as per Govt, of India-rules for Women, SC, ST, OBC. Physically Handicapped &' Ward of Defence personnel.
g) Tuition Fees & Other Deposits (To Be Paid In Lumpsum at the Time of Admission for Entire Training Period).
The tuition fee @ of Rs.100/- per month per trainee shall be charged for SI.No. 1 &3 to 6.
Tuition fee for COPA trade will be @ Rs.200/- per month per trainee.
No Tuition Fee is charged from SC/ST & Physically handicapped trainees.
Rs.250/- (Rupees Two Hundred & Fifty) per trainee as caution money,
Gymkhana fee @ Rs.5/- per months or part there of.
h) Hostel Facilities Accommodation if available shall be provided in the Institute Hostel to deserving trainees at a nominal hostel rent, after admission. Trainees will have to join the mess running on cooperative basis.
i) How to Apply: Candidates desiring admission may obtain application form and other details from the Institute.
They may apply separately for each trade in the prescribed Application form obtainable on payment of Rs.25/- and Rs.50/-shall be charged as Registration fee for filled application form, in cash along with latest Passport size Photographs, Attested true copies of Marksheet, School Leaving Certificate & Caste Certificate etc. Issued by the competent authority for the purpose.
In case of the ward of Ex-Service Men they should submit the certificate from District Defence social Welfare Office.
j) Closing Date for receipt of application for admission is 18th July 2008
