Hyderabad Karnataka Education Society was established in the year 1958 by Late Sri. Mahadevappa Rampure at Gulbarga. The Aim and objectives of this society were to provide education facility for the people of Hyderabad Karnataka region consisting of Gulbarga, Raichur and Bidar Districits. At present the society is running 40 education institutions. The S.L.N Engineering college was established in the year 1979. Raichur is located half way on Mumbai-Chennai and Mumbai Bangalore Railway route and is a district head-quarter in the North Eastern part of Karnataka, with rich natural resourcres. A Thermal power plant of 1260Mw has brought revolution in the Industrial growth of city. The college campus is situated on Raichur-Hyderabad Road just 8 Kms from Raichur. There are ample places of Historical, Cultural & Religious interest around Raichur. Enggneering offers Courses of four-year duration for the following Courses. 1) Computer Science and Engg. 2) Electronic & Communication. 3) Civil Engg. 4) Mechnical Engg. 5) Textile Technology. 6) Information Technology. Students are given better training because of that students were required by our teaching staff members and other posts at campus recruitment by Tata Engineering Locomotive Company Limited, Hubli, & other establishment. Educational Tours are provided to the students to help them for the project work to gain practical & general knowledge by the part expenditure of the management. Qualified students of the polytechnic are found working at different part of the country even in abroad. The applicant have passed P.U.C II or its equivalent examinations with physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as optional subjects and with english as one of the langauges study and should have obtained not less than 50% marks in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry(relaxation for SC/ST 40%). The Common Entrance Test conducted by Director of Techincal Education is the basis for selection of candidates for admission Free and Payment seats.
