Rashtriya Military Schools located at Chail (Himachal Pradesh), Ajmer (Rajasthan), Belgaum (Karnataka), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Dholpur (Rajasthan) invite applications for admission to class VI.
Rashtriya Military Schools are CBSE affiliated, fully residential public schools, which function under the aegis of Ministry of Defence.
Entrance Exam: The Common Entrance Test (CET) for admission to class VI will be held on 20 Dec 2009 (Sunday). The exam will be automated OCR based in subjects of Intelligence, General Knowledge, Mathematics and English of class Vth standard.
Interview and Results: Candidates who have cleared the CET and are figuring in the merit list will be required to appear for interview in respective Rashtriya Military Schools. Final merit list will be prepared after the Interview. Results will also be posted on Army Intranet Home Page under the Heading 'What is new' and MT Directorate Home page under the heading 'Result' and also on http://www.winentrance.com/winwin.asp?collegeid=http://www.indianarmy.nic.in
Application Forms: Application forms can be obtained from any of the Rashtriya Military Schools by either paying Rs.50/- for the application form or Rs.250/- (Rs.125/- in case of SC/ST) for a comprehensive Prospectus and application form. Applicants to forward self addressed envelop of size 31 cm x 25 cm affixed with Rs.27/- stamps for only application form and affixed with Rs.42/- stamps for comprehensive Prospectus and application form along with Demand Draft payable at respective Rashtriya Military School (in favour of "Principal, Rashtriya Mil School").
Applications of Wards of JCOs and or will not repeat not be routed through record offices. All applications will only be routed thorough Rashitriya Military schools. All details pertaining to list of Exam Centres etc are given in the Application form. Last Date for submission of filled in application form is 10 Sep 2009.
Eligibility:
Age: Only boys between 10 to 12 years as on 01 Jul 2010 are eligible. Six months relaxation in upper age limit is permissible for the wards of personnel killed in action.
Education: Should have passed class Vth from a govt. / recognised school before the date of admission to a Rashtriya Military School. However, a student studying in class Vth is eligible to appear in the entrance test.
Medical: Selected candidates will have to undergo medical exam at the Command/Zonal and other Military hospitals as nominated by the Director General of Medical Services prior to admission and only those found medically fit will be offered admission.
Reservation of Vacancies (of total strength of Rashtriya Military schools)
67% for wards of JCO and Other Ranks of Army, Navy and AF (including ex servicemen)
20% for wards of officers of Army, Navy and AF (including ex servicemen)
13% for wards of civilians.
50 seats are reserved for wards of service personnel Killed in Action.
