Department of Chemical Engineering
The Laxminarayan Institute of Technology proudly boasts of a full fledged Department in the field of Chemical Engineering suited to such fields as Mass Transfer, Heat Transfer, Unit Operations and Fuels and Combustion. It has an attached big Computer Laboratory catering to around 25 students at any one time with internet and other facilities. A Process Control Laboratory guides students in the State of Art in the Industry. A post graduate programme in the subject has been in operation since 1966.
Department of Applied Chemistry
The Department of Food Technology Started in 1973, the food technology section has independently grown into a full-fledged Post-graduate laboratory with all modern facilities for the testing and analysis of food.
Department of Oil Technology
The Oil Technology section is in existence form the inception in 1942. It has a Pilot Plant attached to the section to educate students in the processing of Oils, Manufacture of Soaps and Detergents and ancillary products. The section also runs a full time post-graduate programme well suited to analysis of all Oil based products.
Department of Surface Coating Technology
Started around seven years back this is a new Department under the ninth plan supported by UGC and is in operation in coordination with the Department of Oil Technology. It runs under –graduate courses with excellent paint making machinery and has been the hub of an International Project on development of eco-friendly paints.
Department of Paper and Pulp Technology
Started in 1977, the Paper and Pulp Technology came into being under the Golden Jubilee Programme of the University, Since its inception it has made great strides in the art of Paper Making and has become a center for the analysis of paper and expertise in the art of paper making.
Department of Plastics and Polymer Technology
This department started in 1996.
