Narasaraopet Engineering College, Narasaraopet

The college started functioning from the academic year 1998-1999 after approval by AICTE and is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University (JNTU) Hyderabad with intake of 180 B.Tech. students in four branches of Engineering viz CSE, IT, ECE, EEE. The sanctioned intake has progressively increased to 483 in 2002-2003 over five branches of engineering, the fifth branch being Mechanical Engineering. The intake also includes 60 Post Graduate students of MCA and lateral entry of Diploma students in the second year B.Tech. courses. A sixth course of Instrumentation and Control Engineering with in take of 60 students is also sanctioned from the academic year 2003-2004. The courses offered presently are summarized below.

* The First RCC building with an area of 10,852 sq.m in completed in 2000-2001

* The College is giving cash prize to top GATE scorers
* A English language laboratory in started is started under personality development cell, which is useful for TOFEL students.
* Books, CD's etc about GRE, TOFEL and GATE examinations are made available in the College
* A Full fledged placement officer has been appointed to look after the training & placement as well as industrial consultancy activities.
* The college is sponsoring staff members to higher studies (M.Tech / Ph.D), to participate in seminars and workshops.
* IEEE student branch STB 61021 of Narasaraopeta Engineering College attached to Hyderabad section was started in the 1999-2000. Under IEEE chapter several seminars were organized inviting External Professionals and experts.
