Advances in technology shape our lives and engineer our imagination. The BLDE Association realised the growing needs of technical education in this region and started the College of Engineering and Technology in 1980 with an intake of 145 students for Civil, Electrical and Mechanical branches. In 1995, this College was renamed as Vachana Pitamaha Dr. P.G.Halakatti College of Engineering and Technology. Two decades hence, this institution is proud to be regarded as one amongst the most professional and well-equipped Engineering colleges in Karnataka offering nine under-graduate courses and two post-graduate courses.
To be a trendsetting institution in Technical Education & Research in producing highly competent technical manpower to meet the ever changing needs of Industry and Society.
To be an institution providing Technical Education and Training at Graduate and Post-Graduate levels in response to the changing needs of industries and society through a flexible and innovative learning process enabling the students to build productive careers and excel in their professions with high degree of integrity and ethical standards.
The Management has always endeavored to create the most conducive and complete learning environment for students and it is revealed in the facilities available for students, which are beyond those stipulated by the University. The College has strong partnerships with professional institutions like - Institution of Engineers, India, IEEE and others. Laboratories and workshop facilities also functioning as technical hobby centers for students are a testimony to the flourishing scientific temperament in the campus. The college encourages and sustains this spirit by presenting a good number of awards and prizes for the meritorious students.
