The Kirloskar Institute of Advanced Management Studies (KIAMS), Harihar, Karnataka, was established in the year 1991, for conducting Management Development Program.
The Late Shri. S. L. Kirloskar's vision of creating a centre of excellence for management education, training, research and consultancy was initiated with KIAMS’s establishment.
KIAMS is one of the few B-Schools offering full-fledged PGDM and MDP, structured as two 'SBUs'. It is the first management institute to apply for CII-EXIM Business Excellence award.
KIAMS has introduced Integrated Experiential Learning through outbound program. In the first year, at the end of each semester, outbound workshops are held, integrating concepts taught in that particular semester.
KIAMS directs its students to K- companies to learn about the Business Excellence Model and Balanced Score Card.
Making a comparative study of these models in manufacturing and Service industry, is part of the programme.
The students are from all parts of the country and have proved their credentials excelling in business and industry.
The admission process starts with CAT/XAT, followed by Group Activity, Group Discussion & Interviews.
PRAGATI, a creative initiative by KIAMS, is an annual rural marketing fair organized by the students of KIAMS, facilitating a unique opportunity for the corporate houses to introduce, promote and sell their products and services in the rural area.
It is the only mega rural commercial event of its kind held in North Karnataka.
OPERACY, an annual All India paper writing competition organized by KIAMS offers a platform to share news and views of management education, practiced by different B-Schools; to seed interactions with recent industry-entrants; to get a flavor of what awaits B-School students, when they walk into the corporate world.
The list of companies who participated in KIAMS Management Development Programme (MDP) includes the Kirloskar Group of Companies, Adecco India, JSW, GMR Construction, Grasim Industries, etc.
KIAMS is also engaged in Consultancy for one of the large-scale Saudi Arabian companies, AHCL.
