D. Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur is established by Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil in 1983. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and Department of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra state. The college is affiliated to Shivaji University, Kolhapur, Maharashtra.

As per Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) of Government of Maharashtra. ( www.dte.org.in )
AIEEE quota - 15 %, CET – 65 %, Management quota – 20 %.
Criteria & weightage for admission
Minimum 50 % for PCM subjects for open category & 45 % for SC / ST category and CET score, other rules & regulation as per govt. of Maharashtra.
