St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT), MUMBAI

St. Francis Institute of Technology (SFIT) was established in 1999 with a view to create an Engineering Degree Institute to fulfill the long felt public need of an Institute of Excellence in Borivli. SFIT has three Degree Programs in the most coveted disciplines considering both industrial need and public preference. The disciplines are:
Information Technology
Computer Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering
SFIT is affiliated to the University of Mumbai. These courses would lead to award of the Degree of Bachelor of Engineering (B. E.) in related discipline of Engineering.
Ever since the Indian government stepped up its focus on the development of independent, indigenous Institutes of science and technology, there has been a growth of such centers of learning all over the country. As a technology base was being created, it became increasingly clear that the nation required simultaneously to cultivate technological talent and resources on a war footing, a response that led to the establishment of the St. Francis Institute of Technology.
This Franciscan Institute achieves its mission through uniquely structured programs, upgraded form time to time, the implementation and review of syllabus and policies in the emerging global paradigm. Recognizing the imperatives of globalization, SFIT has designed programs intended to develop technological entrepreneurs with the requisite skills and competencies to succeed in the global industry. These carefully designed programs are grounded in the excellence of the faculty, the efficacy of the pedagogy, the vast diversity of the technological community, whose expertise and experience we draw from, and the extensive perspective of the Institute’s board of trustees.
SFIT offers four-year Bachelor’s programs in three branches of engineering, namely, Electronics and Telecommunications, Computer Engineering and Information Technology. The vision and mission statements clearly envisage the development of every single student into an entrepreneur endowed with timeless values. The total intake is 240 students per year. Apart from being approved by the AICTE in the year of its inception, and accredited by TCS, SFIT has signed an MOU with Infosys for the Campus Connect Program.
