Sri Bonam Venkata Chalamayya comes from a reputed family from agriculturally rich town. He was a great visionary for striking balance between the rural agriculture and urban industry. The BVC Educational Society was registered on July 08, 1992 with registration number: 533 under the district registrar, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh.
In the year 1997 he established BVC Engineering College in a far and cornered peasantry of East Godavari District of Andhra Pradesh at a place called Odalarevu. The response was overwhelming and the alumni have come-up bagging the best jobs in the industry.

BVCITS has a highly devoted computer science department that exposes students to a broad range of subjects involving advanced software technology and application in industry. DEPARTMENT PROFILE:
Recognizing the overwhelming demand for education in computer engineering, the college started four year B.Tech. Degree course in Computer Science and Engineering in 2002 with an intake of 90 students with a lateral entry intake of 10%, with the objective of being responsive to needs of industries, the course goes beyond fulfilling the syllabus requirements of the University and offers students opportunities to work on different hardware and software platforms prevalent in industry. It Provides accessibility to the information on the latest trends and developments in information technology. The department has well qualified staff and well equipped laboratories.
