Basavarajeswari, Former Union Minister and Founder Chairperson of the Trust. She was a visionary with a practical mission. Her commitment to the society will only find a rare parallel. She believed that education is a catalyst to the growth and development of any society and that quality education must be integral to everybody.
In order to consolidate, as a mark of respect to our founders achievements, Bellary Engineering College, Sanjay Gandhi Polytechnic, Bellary Industrial Training Institute, Basavarajeswari Public School & College, Bellary Teachers Training Institute, have come under the auspices of “BASAVARAJESWARI GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS”.
We are proud to state that BELLARY ENGINEERING COLLEGE is reincarnated as “BELLARI INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY & MANAGEMENT (BITM)”, especially because the Dept. of Management Studies has been added as a member of this group. In addition to M.Tech., in Digital Electronics and MCA Courses started from this academic year, the other feather in our cap is approval of Research Centre in the Dept. of Biotechnology under Visveswaraya Technological University.

BITM was started under the aegis of T.E.H.R.D. Trust, Bellary in the year 1997. The Institution is recognized by Govt. of Karnataka, approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
BITM has implemented the stipulations laid down by IM Moody International an ISO 9001:2000 and has come in for its share of praise on being conferred with it. An ISO Certification, like the one BITM now has, enhances the overall functioning of the college and creates a quality management system in the academic and social front meeting very stringent global standards. Shortly, the college is in the process of National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
BITM is designed to provide the best in terms of technical and management education, with the best of infrastructure and competent academic delivery. The college is located on a sprawling campus of 11.00 acres of greenery with an eco-friendly ambience for serious learning in an academic environment, with the top notch facilities that combine aesthetics with modernity, good hostel facility for both boys and girls and play ground facility
BITM has state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities which include high speed wireless networking, latest computers and software, dedicated internet connectivity, well equipped laboratories, spacious library with rich collection of books & journals.
BITM has a strong Governing Body, wherein the members are pooled from different professions like; academicians from IIM,IITs, Industrialists, Medical & Software professionals and Chartered Accountants.
BITMs greatest strength is its faculty, we have highly qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with sound background of the subject and strong desire to keep pace with latest developments in their emerging fields. The special feature of our institution’s faculty is excellent teacher student relationship, rolling together intellectually and personally and study process to mould the students to develop their personality. Apart from this, the students are monitored, mentored, trained and guided by the dedicated faculty to meet the technological challenges of tomorrow. The concerned member of the faculty interacts with the students and parents to understand the problem, depending on the problem the students are counseled. In house training and projects, encouragement to R&D, Training on soft skills, helps in improvement of the skill-set of the students to prepare for corporate environment. Workshops and Personality developments, Industry Institution Interactions are regular activities on campus.

ADMISSIONS
Admission to the first year of the course are open to students, who have passed either of the following examinations:
The two year Pre-University Course examinations (Science) conducted by the Karnataka State Pre-University Board or The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as optional subjects and English as a medium of Study, orAny other examination recognized b the University as equivalent thereto.
The candidates should have secured a minimum of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science of PUC examination or CBSE. Examination or any other examination recognized by the University as equivalent thereto.
Three year Diploma holders in appropriate branch of Engineering, awarded by the Board of Technical Education, Government of Karnataka, or any other Diploma qualification considered thereto by the University, who have secured not less than 50% of aggregate marks in the final examination of the Diploma Course.
Final Admission procedure is waiting in the Court due to fresh Supreme Court Judgment and the students are request to directly contact the College.
