East West Institute of Technology(EWIT) came into existence in the year 2001, in the enviable garden city of Bangalore, as a jewel in the crown of East West Group of Institutions under the banner of Subramanya Educational Society established nearly four decades ago. This Society and its Group of Institutions are the dream projects of its Founder Chairman Sri C. M. Nagaraj. a visionary, an acknowledged educationist, a philanthropist, a social worker and an elected prominent corporator of long standing. It is in fitness of his abilities and achievements that he was elected as the worshipful Mayor of Bangalore city for the year 2002-2003.
In a short span EWIT has made commendable progress- thanks to the committed and untiring efforts of its charismatic Chairman Sri.C.M.Nagaraj, enthusiastic and dynamic Secretary with a clear vision Sri C.N.RaviKiran,optimistic, cheerful and ever active Joint secretary Sri C.N. ShashiKiran and its reputed workaholic
Principal Dr. M.N Gundurao, an able academician and an administrator molded into one. In such a short period the institute has been awarded ISO 9001:2000 Certification from JAS-ANZ, a mark of quality of educational and infra-structural facilities, a distinction rarely awarded to any other Institution of similar age.
EWIT is located off Magadi Road just 10km from the city centre. It is well connected with public/private transport facilities. The lush green vast campus of 20 acres, amidst sylvan surroundings and away from the maddening city hustle and bustle, tastefully landscaped with award winning gardens is decked with well governing council and aesthetically designed buildings that house spacious lecture halls, laboratories, workshops and library.
Separate hostels are available for boys and girls; while the hostel for boys is situated on the campus the girls hostel is situated at the city center close to the head office. The quality of food, its variety, nutritive values and hygiene and the discipline of the inmates are being carefully monitored by the Warden of the Hostel. There exists a facility for indoor and outdoor games. Doctors visit hostels regularly to monitor the health of inmates.
On the tastefully arranged racks of the spacious library, with state of the art furniture, are required number of text books, reference books, reputed hournals-both national and international, and CD ROMS. There are over 13,000 text/reference books and over 4000 e-journals accessible to staff & students
