About Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha

The Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha is a philanthropic society was established in 1916 (Regd.1918) with a view to focus on providing Education to all strata of the society in the rural areas of Bellary and its surrounding districts. This crusade against illiteracy and ignorance has now achived epic proportion. The Sangha today runs 29 educational institutions in Bellary, Koppal and Davanagere districts, covering primary education to post graduation courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Engineering and Management. It aims to carry on the good works in the years to come.
About HOSPET

Hospet city is situated 100 kms from Guntakal junction and 310 kms from Bangalore. The famous world Heritage Centre of Vijayanagar Empire HAMPI is situated at 10 kms from HOSPET & Tunga Bhadra Dam which is major irrigation project of India & also a tourist center, situated just 4 kms from Hospet City. It is well connected with road and railway to various parts of India. Nearest Air Port is located at TORANAGAL which is about 30 kms from Hospet.

The Society Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha, Bellary came into existence in 1916(Regd.,1918) due to the sincere and dedicated efforts of inspired and selfless philanthropists with high Socio-political –economic background with blessings of the great seers of the time in this part of the state. It is registered under the Societies Registration Act of the State.

Proudadevaraya Institute of Technology is an Institution managed and run by esteemed Veerasaiva Vidyavardhaka Sangha Bellary registered and reputed educational society founded in 1917-18. It is a philatelic society whose motto is to serve backward people of Bellary, Koppal & Davanageri districts by providing quality of education for all the people irrespective of caste creed and domicile. The Sangha over the years, with a humble beginning with a Sanskrit Pathasala and a Primary Kannada School, has grown in size and strength. It now runs 3 Middle Schools, 5 High Schools, 1 Jr. College and 9 Degree Colleges of Arts, Science and Commerce, 5 Educational Institutions, one Law college, 2 Engineering Colleges, B & D.Pharmacy Colleges, Polytechnic and Institute of Management.

Proudadevaraya Institute of Technology has established in Oct 1997. Vide AICTE F.No: 770-55-221(E)/ET/96, dated 04-08-1997, under the benediction and able guidance of President of V.V.Sangha. In the beginning, the college was affiliated to Gulbraga University, Gulbarga (1997-98) and from 1998, it is affiliated to Visveswaraya Technological University, Belgaum.
